The Estonian Manor Houses and Castles Tour proposes you a complete 7-day journey through history, nature and traditions, giving an idea of different powers that have dominated Estonia, main architecture styles and rich history combined with the picturesque scenery of the Estonian countryside.

This fascinating adventure starts from Tallinn with its charming centuries old cobblestoned streets, merchants houses, towers and squares that give the impression of being taken directly from the storybook.  The majestic Toompea castle, historicist Maarjamäe Palace and the elegant Kadriorg Palace are only the beginning of your Manor House & Castles Tour.

Proceeding through the lovely northern coastal area and the Lahemaa National Park, you will learn about the Baltic-German inspiring history and visit Palmse, Sagadi and Vihula manors.  

Continuing discovering this lovely Nordic country you will see Rakvere Medieval Castle and enjoy fresh gastronomy delights in Põhjaka manor house nostalgic atmosphere and be seduced by an upscale and stylish manor Boutique Hotel Kau with ultimate comfort and relaxation options in the beautiful natural surroundings!

Admire the aristocratic fairy-tale castle of Alatskivi near the Peipsi lake and impressive Sangaste and Taagepera Castles - the pearls of South Estonia. Pärnu, the vibrant summer capital of Estonia proposes another architectural landmark of art nuoveau style - Ammende Villa and reveals the fascinating history of this former wealthy Hanseatic city, while Haapsalu boasts its medieval castle ruins and interesting ghost stories!

DAY 1. CHARMING TALLINN WELCOMES YOU WITH SOULFUL GASTRONOMIC DELIGHTS AND ONE OF THE BEST ESTONIAN SOMMELIER!

Discover the charms of Tallinn Old Town, one of the best preserved medieval merchants' cities in the whole Europe! The walking tour will take you through the Old Town, visiting the historical Toompea palace and the well-preserved medieval city wall that is surrounding the medieval fortress.

For dinner enjoy some gastronomic delights in the Old Town. Savor soulful food made from the finest, freshest ingredients. In addition to private atmosphere, cozy garden and delicious food, “Leib Resto & Aed” offers highly personalized service and customer care. DAY 2. ROMANTIC TALLINN OF BAROQUE PALACES, ST BRIGETTE CONVENT RUINS AND SUNSET PANORAMA APERITIF!

Morning some hours free time in the Tallinn’s charming Old Town. Then you will discover the lovely Kadriorg, one of the most beautiful and romantic places in Tallinn. This is where Russian Czar Peter the First built his summer residents, Kadriorg Baroque Palace. You can marvel the idyllic Swan Pond, visit Peter the First House and the modern art museum of KUMU, absolutely not-to-be-missed cultural landmark!

After some healthy lunch in an authentic atmosphere, your driver will take you to the Pirita yachting harbor, once site of the Olympic Games. Enjoy the white sandy Pirita beach, be captivated by the Pirita seaside panorama with the Old Town cityscape - one of the most famous sea panorama’s in the world! You will also see the historicist Maarjamäe Palace and the mysterious and enchanting St Bridget’s Convent Ruins.

DAY 3. BALTIC GERMAN PALMSE AND VIHULA MANOR ROMANCE AMIDST A GORGEOUS NATURAL LANDSCAPE

Departure for the idyllic Lahemaa National Park. Enjoy the stunning Palmse manor house. While visiting Palmse, one of the best-restored manor complexes in Estonia, your guide will give you a through overview of the manor history and the role of the Baltic-German elite in Estonian culture background.

Enjoy some traditional rustic lunch and the tranquility, inspiring history and picture-postcard beauty of the National Park idyllic seaside fisherman villages Käsmu, Võsu, Vergi, Altja!

The next stop is at the Vihula Manor Country Club & Spa - a charming manor house fully renovated, offering a touch of luxury in the scenic Lahemaa National Park. Vihula proposes world class spa facilities and is a perfect place to ease your stress, soothe emotions, harmonize your mind and relax your body.

Dinner is served at the upscale Boheme Restaurant overlooking the romantic Manor Park, where local Estonian cuisine and organic food, combining hearty traditional countryside dishes and elegant manor cuisine. Quite a few recipes come from the estate’s historical cookbooks, while many of the ingredients come from the estate’s own Manor Garden and Eco-Farm. Otherwise you can discover the manor historical Ice Cellar, Kaval-Ants Tavern that offers fresh traditional Estonian countryside cuisine based on natural and ecologically balanced food. 

DAY 4. THE HIGEST STANDARD OF LUXURY, STYLE AND COMFORT IN AN INSPIRING ARTISTIC AND IDYLLIC ATMOSPHERE

Departure for Rakvere Medieval Castle ruins. With our guide learn the history of this wonderful castle and enjoy the exposition of the castle's history, historical weapons, and a torture chamber. You can try your hand at shooting a bow or a crossbow, sword fight and pike battle, forging, pottery, minting your own castle coins, you can taste medieval wines in the castle cellar. The castle also has a cannon - a Swedish field cannon that shoots with black powder.

Lunch at the historic manor house, Põhjaka, that offers gastronomic delights and gathers 3 best chefs in Estonia. They prepare their gastronomy clients affordable, simple and exquisite national cuisine made from local raw ingredients in a homely manor house nostalgic atmosphere.

Pass the lovely Art Nouveau Eivere Manor and arrive to the stylish newly-opened Kau Manor with its inspiringly rich history has been elaborately restored preserving its authentic aura and is decorated with an impeccable taste and sense of artistic style.

The dinner in the sophisticated Eight Legs Restaurant, where 2 of the Estonian prominent chefs prepare innovative, local cuisine, is included.

DAY5. ARISTOCRATIC ALATSKIVI MANOR AND WINDSOR INSPIRED SANGASTE CASTLE BEFORE ENJOYING BOHEMIAN AND SOPHISTICATED AURA OF TARTU

Morning departure for the fairy-tale style neo-gothic Alatskivi manor- recently elaborately restored Historicist Alatskivi castle, one of the most magnificent and aristocratic castles in the Baltic countries. The castle itself was inspired by one of the British Royal Family residents, the magnificent Balmoral Palace in Scotland. The

Alatskivi Restaurant offers a unique combination of Scottish, Estonian and German gastronomy. Taste fresh pike-perch from Peipus Lake and discover the Scottish Surprise dessert. Alatskivi guarantees a royal dining experience even for the most selective food lovers!

Next stop will be at Tartu, a famous university city with a fascinating bohemian style atmosphere and academic aura of spirituality that offers vibrant cultural life for all tastes.

For dinner you will taste rye, one of the basic ingredients in Estonian cuisine. Rye is declared to be Estonian national grain and rye bread the most important national food. Try the oldest known rye sort, Sangaste rye that was cultivated here 130 years ago. Together with the traditional dishes included in the menu, you can also find some dishes that contain rye to a smaller or larger extent.

Close to the restaurant stands the majestic Sangaste Castle, featuring a magnificent ball hall, a gothic-style foyer and an English-style hunting hall. This beautiful castle was inspired by the Windsor Castle in England. Enjoy a relaxing walk  in the manor park and enjoy the peace and quiet of the nature surrounding. 

DAY 6. SOUTHERN ESTONIAN MAJESTIC MANOR HOUSES AND THE SUMMER CAPITAL OF ESTONIA

After breakfast departure for Taagepera. Explore this exceptional castle and find out the rich history of the art nouveau castle of mystery and poetry. Lunch is served at the castle’s majestic restaurant, proposing fresh dishes with interesting Southern-Estonian influences.

After lunch departure for Pärnu – the Estonian summer capital. Enjoy this former wealthy Hanseatic city with its yachting harbour, beach promenades with many cafes, restaurants, lounges and summer terraces but also world-class spas. 

Dinner at your choice and accommodation at the charming Art-Nouveau-style Ammende Villa that fascinates with its rich décor, luxury interior and flamboyant park being built by the rich merchant of Pärnu to celebrate his daughter Ammende’s wedding in 1905.

DAY 7. ROMANTIC HAAPSALU SEASIDE CHARM, MAJESTIC CASTLE AND ART GALLERY GASTRONOMY!

Enjoy some replenishing breakfast at the hotel or walk to Mahedik Café that is known for its organic food made from fresh, seasonal and Estonian ingredients, offering healthy diet with also wholegrain bakery products, cakes and gateaux. Perfect place to taste eco-friendly gourmet!

You can take advantage of your free morning and have a relaxing walk on the beach or try the healing muds of Pärnu at one of the beauty spas.

Lunch at “Supelsaksad” (Swimming holidaymakers) for lunch as this year the restaurant won the prominent Silverspoon culinary award. Enjoy delicious salads, soups and main courses, freshly baked buns and amazing cakes in cosy and stylish interior with colourful furniture, laces, tablecloths and selected coffee sets.

After lunch depature for Haapsalu, an idyllic seaside town with charming artist cafes, impressive medieval Castle ruins with a haunting White Lady, seaside panorama boulevards, curative muds and many spas and sanatoriums. Have a glimpse of this St Petersburg nobility favourite city, where the great Pjotr Tchaikovsky wrote some of his music.

Try a snack at Epp Maria Kokamägi Gallery, Cake and Wine Room - a very cosy and characteristic gallery and cafeteria where one can admire the masterpieces of this unique artist.

After dinner you will take the road back to Tallinn. Enjoy you last night at this Nordic capital, free dinner.
